AREAS OF ENGAGEMENT

COOKS RIVER CATCHMENT

In partnership with the Cooks River Alliance, Regen Sydney convenes cross-sector collaboration in the Cooks River catchment. We look to foster greater collective agency in pursuit of freshwater health, climate resilience, biodiversity integrity and cultural connection. The partnership looks to develop coherent regeneration pathways that grapple with immediate needs for ecological health, as well as advocacy for longer term policy shifts.

HARBOUR RENATURALISATION

Regen Sydney engages in a range of efforts in partnership with Blue Green Australia to renaturalise sections of Sydney Harbour. Often these areas have complicated ownership arrangements crossing over numerous jurisdictions, and requiring consortium approaches to pilot project development. Emerging projects are focusing on participatory design of climate adaptation responses in Rushcutters Bay and Elizabeth Bay. The Floating Foreshores project prototypes mycelium marine infrastructure, whilst the forming Harbour Indicators project seeks to create a dashboard for tracking ecological health across Sydney Harbour.
