“Economic localisation is the key to sustaining biological and cultural diversity - to sustaining life itself. The sooner we shift towards the local, the sooner we will begin healing our planet, our communities and ourselves.”

Regen Waverley Program
Building Civic Capabilities for Neighbourhood-Scale Regeneration
This report presents insights and reflections gained through the 12-month Regen Waverley program that Regen Sydney conducted in partnership with Waverley Council between August 2024 and August 2025.
Through this program, Regen Sydney helped to develop and model new civic infrastructure in the form of a cross-sector community of practice: bridging across community, Council and private-sector stakeholders. Co-design workshops and informal gatherings grew the collective regenerative literacy, and also facilitated the collective to craft avenues for meaningful action.
